A special food market in Chiang Mai

Coming back to Chiang Mai this time, I was lucky enough to visit one of my favourite markets near the Faculty of Agriculture at Chiang Mai University (CMU. This special market is only held on the first Thursday of the month. As a student at CMU, I had always been excitedly waiting to visit it.

This market  not only has hundreds of different local foods, but people also sell traditional clothing, silver jewelry, handmade items, ceramic wares, even plants and freshwater aquarium fish. Even now, I still don’t know all the names of the products being sold there, so it was always an interesting adventure every time I go to visit it.

Most of the vendors are very sweet and friendly, some of them even remembered me from my visits last year, and we were like old friends catching up. I had quite a moment of sadness thinking about leaving this lovely place.
